I have a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT (4.0 EFI 2WD) and it needs a new instrument panel...but I like how the 2002 Explorer Sport Trac panel looks like (you know the white one). If I put the 02 panel in my truck, will it work???

You find the flasher on the steering column. You have to remove the cover located between the steering wheel and instrument panel. There you find the flasher. Before replacing the flasher check the wirings to the flasher.
Above is correct, some body panels are interchangeable some aren't...Headlights, front fenders, hood yes. Doors unsure, bed and back no (obviously). The underpinnings (suspension) are similar, but not exact...and depending on the year, the Explorer went to independent rear suspension, while the sport trac kept the solid axle differential.
