2001 Cadillac Deville will not move forward or reverse. Started as a problem that would clear up after it warmed up. Problem progressed (a few days later) to very hard to get in moving forward from a stopped position, but seemed fine until I stopped again. Trans fluid is fine, and check transmission is lighting up. Any ideas? (Also I don't recall seeing any transmission codes other than that warning.) Dan

I have had the same problem and I have come to the conclusion it is the security system. After 3 minutes the car will start so there is nothing wrong with the battery or starter. I have had it to the dealer a few times and they cannot solve it. It may be the locks on the doors and they may not be resetting properly. I have learned to live with it.

If the transmission is not extremely low on fluid then there is but one reason for this, the transmission has failed and will need to be removed and rebuilt or replaced with a reman unit.

This trans you will ether have to get it repaired or replaced you can try changeling the trans filter and fluid and I would add a can off sea foam for trans too it
