What's up everyone. My 88 Prelude has a problem with the tail lights. For some reason, they will not turn on. I can't figure it out at all. I've checked all my fuses, I've replaced the bulbs. I even replaced a relay I thought might control lights. Nothing has fixed it yet. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice at all. A couple problems that may be related: My headlights work, but when I click my brights on, all my lights shut off; My dash lights don't come on when I turn my headlights/tail lights on; My battery light flashes on once and a while when I'm driving, at no particular speed, and will cause my headlights to be very bright until the battery light on my dash shuts off. Seriously, any help anyone has would be greatly appreciated, I want to be able to drive my car at night again! Thanks!

SOURCE: instrument gauge lights stopped working,

Hi! You may not need to replace the instrument panel bulbs but sure is the instrumental panel control switch. If the control switch is faulty the lights on the gauge fails. Have it replaced and you'll be good. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

SOURCE: The lights behind the radio controls don't work. Not sure if it is a fuse or light bulb problem.

There is a tiny bulb inside the radio that has burned out, the radio must be removed and the light replaced, this is best left to a radio repair shop as the common practice on new radios is to have the bulb hard wired into the circuit board at the front display.

Not working tail lights, not working dash board

Check your fuses its probably just a blown fuse ,the tail lights and dash lights are linked through the same fuse.

You need to check the tcm for codes too. The s3 light is like the check engine light for the tcm. The VSS code might be your problem.

check your wiring for dirty connections or broken wires, you may have wires that are rubbed through or connectors that are not making full contact. you will need an ohm meter and check wires for continuity. a wiring diagram will be needed.
