I have a 2004 diesel xtype, that has started hissing when the turbo kicks in...need to know the cause.

It seems like you have a hole in the intake pipe or a loose connection to the air supply

have you checked the glow plugs if they are ok then you need to calidrate your injectors.

check intercooler pipes for splits or holes dont think turbo is at fault you must check pipes carefully remove if you have to to check

Have a 2004 registerd 3.0 litre diesel BMX X5.
well that seem low for turbo going out if you did not use the right oil or something i could see it going bad they do go bad it just seem to me to be low mileage but again it depends on you service where done right
