Car wont start and acts like it aint getting no gas

I try to start my 1991 dodge dynasty V6 3.3 L and it acts like it is flooding it self out and wont stay running. If you keep patting to gas it will back fire and acts like it isnt getting any gas.

    i have the same problem. i've had a mechanic fix it twice. he replaced

    what he refers to as a computer that has some type of control over

    the fuel injectors or fuel flow so to speak. i'm trying to find out where

    this thing is to see if i might be able to replace it myself. i really

    don't want to spend anymore money w/ the mechanic.

Dodge dynasty wont start.
Lots of possibilities... More troubleshooting is required. Check to make sure fuel is getting to the cylinders? If not it is a possible bad fuel pump. Another possibility is a bad timing belt.

do a computer self test.

Insert key into ignition. turn as follows;

off-on, off-on, off-on. " on " is when the dash lights come on and "off" is one click back from on.

Codes with flash out on the check engine light is pairs of numbers; 5-5 being the end of the test.

Google your findings; eg, "1991 dodge dynasty code 22"

Your condition is usually a sign of a bad crank or cam position sensor ( if you cant keep the engine running by pressing on the gas pedal.)

If you can keep the car running by pressing the gas pedal than your problem is the idle control valve or a broken vacuum hose.

Try a 1 1/2 to 2 ft.metal bar to pry tension pulley back--get helper to remove. Wear heavy gloves. Do same to install new belt.
