Need firing order for a straight 6 ford 311 or 300

The firing order for a Ford straight 6 is ( 1 - 5 - 3 -6 - 2 - 4 ) the distributor rotation is clockwise.

Firing order 1-5-3-6-2-4

1-5-3-6-2-4 is the spark plug firing order for the 4.9 L ( 300 cubic inch ) straight 6

The distributor rotor turns CLOCKWISE

The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap is installed facing away from the engine

Below is a picture of the cylinder order and the distributor. Number 1 cylinder is at the "white" location on the distributor. Good luck.

Cylinders are numbers 1-2-3-4-5-6 from front of vehicle to the firewall. And the firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4.

For the 1984 Ford F150:
I do not know if you have the 4.9L In-Line (Straight) 6-Cylinder, the 5.0L V8, or the 5.8L V8; however I have included all below.

For the 4.9L In-Line 6-Cylinder:

On the straight 4.9 liter 6 cylinder the firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4 The cylinder from the radiator to the firewall is 1-2-3-4-5-6  The distributor rotates clock wise, (to the right) #1 is towards the brake booster and going clockwise to the right is #5 Ect. 
On the 6.6 liter V8 the firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 The cylinder on the passenger side radiator to firewall 1-2-3-4 The cylinder on the drivers side radiator to the firewall 5-6-7-8 The distributor rotates anti clockwise (to the left) #1 is towards the cylinder #5 going anti clockwise #3 to the left and towards cylinder #1 Ect.

The firing order for the 4.9 L engine is 1-5-3-6-2-4, with the firing order rotation on the distributor cap going clockwise. For the 5.0 & 7.5 L engines, the order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8, and the 5.8 L engine is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. On all three of these engines, the distributor cap firing rotation is counterclockwise. Also, on the six cylinder 4.9 L engine, the cylinders are in a "straight six", with #1 cylinder starting in front, and going in order straight back to #6. The eight cylinder engines' cylinders all fire in order also, (standing in front of the vehicle looking back towards the firewall) with #1 being front on your left and going straight back to #4, and then #5 being at front right, going straight back to #8, with the distributor being front and center. Hope this helps you out.
