Rpm`s spike up and down

My 03 has 67000 miles recently, I’ve noticed when its not moving and in defrost mode, the rpm's spike up and down erratically-just when in defrost additionally, while I’m driving and coming to a stop, it has lunged forward a bit and stalled a few times. I’ve recently had the throttle cleaned, but the problem continues-not very often with the stalling, but the rpm's spiking while in defrost is commonplace. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't wanna laugh but the Vibration of the defrost is probaly wiggling a connection --most likely a harness ground on the engine bay firewall ---I'd check the grounds then the throttle position sensor connector connection and then the --Don't laugh distributor connections to inlude the engine to cab ground cable ---braided bare cable from the block to the firewall -

--the COIL pack may have a poor connection ---and I believe if correct on blazers the feed wire to the coil from the harness
is thick and pinkish that connection if loose describes the symptoms exactly

nothing works without a sufficient GOOD gound --loosen and retighten and ground wires-positive wires and connections ----GM is well known for wiring harness problems ---my 84 blazer
happened to share the same ground for the Blower motor and the distributor ---not anymore!
check your connections and those grounds --am I repeating myself ---and also continue to seek help in here if still persisting after that ---should only take 15 minutes to check it all
30 to fix most likely
hope this helps

This is a pretty common issue for Trailblazers to have. Here's a link with more information about these GM gauge problems. And where you can purchase replacement parts on Amazon if you want to do the repair yourself. Trailblazer Speedometer

Hello, I have a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis with 86k miles on it. The car has been rough on idle for a year or so(unstable vibration inside the cabin and on the chassis) Recently, it lost so much power...

Have someone test the transmission pressure. Some are adjustable. It kind of sounds like the Torque converter is not generating the pressure you need to move the car. These types of defects may not be covered by trouble codes.

Cold idle stays on too long

Has it always behaved the same? It has sensors that detect engine temp, outside temp, humidity and altitude to give you the perfect fuel air mixture for the conditions. 1300 to 1500 rpm is not unusual for cold engine warm up. You could have a bad sensor, but the codes should have revealed that problem. 10 minute warm up is not outside the norm. at idle, but 7 miles driving should make it happen a little sooner. As for the the stick moving when you "get on it", that is normal engine "torque", your engine mounts give just a bit to allow movement and to keep that "torque" from being transferred to the body/framework of the vehicle. You have hard rubber mounts. As they "fatigue" you will notice this movement increasing slightly.

2002 vw jetta tdi - problem with rpm gauge?

Hi, Did you notice the motor actually reving higher when the tachometer was reading a higher rpm.. If it was it could be your transmission slipping.. Set your cruise control and listen to your motor while the tachometer starts moving erratically.. Good Luck
