you should have two fuel filters on that car one under the car on the fuel line it sounds like its not getting fuel right when did this start after the plug and wire change or after the timeing or after the fuel rail thing have a fuel pressure test done on it
hi, you need to take the spark plags out and clean them. the air filter must be taken off and pour an egg cup full of petrol into the carburetter, this is very important not to put too much as this will WET the spark plug and you will need to press the thottle full bore while turning the engine over. try this to test if fuel, spark plugs, points / electronic ignition, ignition, firing order (leads the wrong way around), mechanical parts, all other wiring correct, gerry
hi you need to turn the petral mix it just on the carb so if you take on the air breaver then you can get the right mix and its allways good to use red x or some good cleaning or even do the cleaning your self could even do with a full overhall like plugs coil and condencer and leads thanks ben

The problem wont be your timing belt. you need to take out a spark plug plug it into your HT lead and check for a strong spark or even if there is a spark. check your contact breakers on the distributor as well
