Battery keeps going dead.

Battery was going dead every now and then. Range Rover of Cary can't find out what's wrong. They said, I needed a new battery. Replaced battery and it is still doing it. Drove vehicle Friday night. Saturday morning would not start. Jump started vehicle. Drove around. Sunday morning vehicle would not start.

Something electrical is wrong. The doors will lock sometime on their own. The key was in the garage and I was washing the vehicle and it locked. The control knob for the aircondition comes on and off as it pleases.

I have a similar situation with my 2003 Range Rover. One day after sitting for about 5 days I went out to start it up and it would not turn over, called road side assistance they jump started it, it started up with no issues. I let it run for about 15mins or so came back and hour later to go out and it would not start. I jumped it off again went and had the battery tested it was bad, replaced it a month later went out to start it up and the key would not even turn. I jumped started it again and it started up fine. Had the alternator tested it came back with output and regulator low. I am guessing the alternator is not charging the battery.

Obviously there is an abnormal drain on the vehicles electrical system. Examples of this are a glove box or conso;e light staying even though you closed it, is there a reading or compartment light on ? Anybody that just says "you need a battery without ALSO testing the electrical system for integrity is not helping,

this might get a bit more complex than you desire. If so, I suggest letting a knowledgeable tech ( dealership, if nec ) get involved.

Range Rover supercharge battery going flat

The first thing you do is have the battery electronically tested, it may have a dead cell.

My battery keeps going flat

You need to get the alternator checked as it keeps the battery charged. If you have a multimeter, then connect it to the battery with the engine running. It should show around 13 to 14 volts. If it shows 12 or so, then the alternator is not working.

Range rover problems

Dead or poorly grounded battery. Take your battery to your auto parts store and they will test it (usually free of charge). Also check your battery leads for corrosion in between the strands. It actually creeps up the cable under the insulation and grows like mold eventually rendering them useless. The Range Rover cranking requirements as well as operating draw push the limits of a properly matched battery and bring any battery less than minimum spec to its knees in short order. So have a good strong properly fitted battery such as an Optima or Interstate brand. A new battery and leads will cure your problem im relatively certain.

Why battery keeps going dead even when driving

check the condition and tension of the drive belt. Have the alternator out put checked . Check that the rectifier pack is operational as 14.5 ac will not charge a battery

I need to know all the components and how to work them on my 2004 range rover

To charge the battery, use a Dextran Battery Tender or a C-Tek automatic battery charger as T Patrick suggests,. These will not allow you to make a wrong connection and will charge a relatively low battery in about 24 hours or less with no battery damage and no damage to sensitive on-board gear as well. I have used both and prefer the C-Tek because it has multiple functions, even one for cold weather and can be used for motorcycle and small engine batteries as well. Plus, it has rings and a connector that allow a permanent connection to the battery so all you do is plug the charger in without needing to use clamps or removing the battery cover each time. The Deltran also has the ring connector available at extra charge, but the C-Tek came with it. I charge my battery about every 4 months to keep it in top shape.
