**** >>> This setup I performed with my new 2010 BMW 528XI Garage Door Homelink and Chamberlain Garage Door Opener <<< ****
Chamberlain: 01. Power off or unplug the garage door opener motor power supply (which is mounted on ceiling of the garage) ;;;
02. keep the garage door opener transmitter in your hand (do not press any button at this time) ;;;
03. In your 2010 BMW 528XI Homelink button (which resides under rear view mirror) press the 1st and 3rd homelink button together for about 30-40 seconds (i.e., until the yellow light blinks fast) and when the yellow light next to the homelink button blinks fast release from pressing the (homelink) buttons ;;;
04. now hold the garage door opener transmitter closer (means within 2-4 inches) to the homelink button (either 1st or 2nd or 3rd) whichever you are planning to program to open the garage door ;;;
05. now press the garage door opener transmitter button and chosen homelink button (either 1st or 2nd or 3rd whatever you need) together ;;;
06. the yellow light (next to homelink button) initially may blink slowly but after few seconds (may be 10-20 seconds) will blink fast; once it started blinking fast release from pressing both garage door opener transmitter and homelink button ;;;
07. Now plug or power on the main garage door opener motor (which is mounted on garage ceiling) ;;;
08. On the main garage door opener motor (which is mounted on garage ceiling) press the "LEARN" button (once you press it may have yellow/orange color light; make sure the light is on) ; then within 30 seconds do the next steps #9, #10, #11 very carefully ;;;
09. go to your car and press the homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 1st iteration ;;;
10. again hold the same homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 2nd iteration ;;;
11. again hold the same homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 3rd iteration ** important note; generally three iterations are not necessary; and steps #9, #10, #11 must be performed within 30 seconds ** ;;;
12. during one of the iteration you will hear "CLICK" sound one-time from Garage door motor (which is mounted on ceiling) and if you have light attached with it; it will blink once (** if you hear the CLICK sound and/or light blinks once**) then the particular homelink button is programmed ;;;
13. now press the programmed homelink button; the garage door will open or close (but always it will take 3 or 4 blinks in yellow light or 2-3 seconds before the garage door opens or closes and which is normal) ;;;
** Thats it, your 2010 BMW 528XI Garage Door Opener Homelink setup is complete ** ;;;
You can program rest of the homelink button the same way but following from the steps between #4 and #13 ;;;
Hope this steps will help you to program chamberlain Garage door opener in 2010 BMW 528XI Homelink. ;;;
** possibly the above same steps may work with other BMW 5-series cars homelink too (but I'm not sure) **
Possible causes. The button, wiring from the button to the PCM, PCM, wiring from the PCM to the cruise control module, cruise control module. Which in your case , the cruise module is the throttle body module. Drive by wire. Have the codes read.
Open your trunk lid and on the left hand side (the side of the fuel filler cap) there should be a label that says manual fuel door open. The switch is white and close to the top right by the fuel filler cap on the inside of the trunk. You may have to pull back the carpeting a little to find it as it might be tucked behind. Give it a pull and the fuel door should open. Best of luck .
spray around the gas door with wd40 a couple of times and wait a few minutes for it to disolve the salt or crud or corrosion. Sppray again and even a third time of necessary.
once the door is opened, spray it again, including the hinge and the catch. then spray it again in a week or so and you will be good to go.
Homelink Garage Door Opener Programming Procedure:
The procedure described below was successfully applied to a 2005 Jaguar S-Type.
To begin with, several attempts were made using the programming instructions contained in my Jaguar’s owner’s manual.Though the procedure described in the owner’s manual was straight-forward and understandable, I was unsuccessful in getting the vehicle’s remote to make my garage door opener function.The particular garage door openers I have are both made by Genie.Both openers utilize the “Rolling Code” feature.
To begin with, be sure to clear previous codes on your Jaguar’s garage door opener by first turning (rotating) the ignition key to the “I” position (first notch).Next, simultaneously hold button 1 (left most button) and button 3 (right most button) down until the middle button’s red light changes from continuous on to a rapid flash.This process takes approximately 20-25 seconds.What follows is a two part process.In the first part, get your Genie portable remote and hold it near (approximately 3 inches away from) your Jaguar’s garage door opener console buttons.Choose which button on your Jaguar’s remote you wish to dedicate to your Genie door opener and simultaneously press and hold your Genie opener button and your Jaguar’s opener button.The red light on your Jaguar’s center button (button #2) will light up and within 1-2 seconds will begin to flash rapidly.You have just completed part 1 of the two part process.
Part two:Now it is time to utilize the “Learn” function on your Genie garage door opener.Press the “Learn” button on your Genie garage door opener.The red LED adjacent to the “Learn” button will begin to flash.You now have 30 seconds in which to program your Jaguar’s opener button.Using the same button you just used in the “part 1” procedure, press and hold the same button for several seconds.As before, your Jaguar’s red light in the middle button will light up and within 1-2 seconds, it will flash rapidly.Release the button you are programming.Now, here is the key piece of information!Once again, press and hold that same button.Once again, the center button’s red light will flash rapidly.Release your newly programmed button.This procedure proved successful in my application.Here is what has just happened.The first time you pressed your Jaguar’s remote button tells the Genie opener that it exists and that it is a viable candidate for making your life easier (opening the damn door).The second time you press your Jaguar’s remote button confirms to the Genie’s rolling code that your Jaguar’s signal is legitimate and is to be trusted from then on.
