I bought a 2001 used Accent. THe lady o sold it to me told me that it went off all of a sudden. So I have no light in my "dash" at night.
I checked all fuses. None of them is burn. Is there anywhere else I should look?
I know that the previous owner changed the radio and put back the first one before selling it to me because when I looked to install an new radio, il notice that cables had been cut off.
Thank you!
Hi connie58,
There could be a few things that have caused this.
The most simple solution I can think of is the dimmer switch. This switch is located on ur dash near the steering wheel somewhere. Its not an ordinary switch it is one you can roll up and down, and has a lil pic of a lightbulb near it, you can't miss it.
Next we have the fuses. You can locate these fuses in the kick pannel, this is located again on the drivers side, either to your left, right or under the steering wheel. Check all fuses, find the one for you dash light cluster, and replace it regardless. Because even though it may look intact the fuse could be on its way out. A better way to check the fuse is to get a test light, hook it up to an earth post [the best place is a screw or bolt on the door] turn your car on reds ACC and take your light to the 2 pins you can see at the top of your fuse [you dont have to take the fuse out].
There are many little light bulbs in your dash, if the car has been incorrectly jump started, this could have caued them to blown, but believe me its a billion t one chance them all blowing at once. My bet is more than likely a fuse has blown or the headlight switch/dimmer switch has failed.
