Sounds like its a problem with the light switch handle. Had it myself as well...
If you're savvy enough around car electronics take out the light switch handle, take it apart, find the problem and fix it. Inside the handle-switch you have several slide-switches and some double action slide switches.
Otherwise - get a different switch from a local junkyard or get a new one from your dealer.
Good luck.

Hello

The problem is a leaking battery
Acid leaked all over the wires that are under the battery cage, and ate the wires that run the lights and other systems.

splice up the wires one by one and connect them with an extension wire so it goes around the battery cage not under, ( 2 batteries had leaked)

Good luck
nothing is wrong with any relays or light bulbs

High beam and low beam not working together.

I think you just need new bulbs in both sides. The High and low beam are in one bulb.

No ground signal on right low beam chevrolet cavalier 1998

The bulbs are grounded to the body, so if one ground wire is dead I would expect to find a break in the wire or at the connector. You should be able to splice into the wire and run a new one to a grounding bolt.

2001 Chev Cavalier LS sedan. Low beam on right works, high beam does not, also high beam on left works, low beam does not. These problems both exist simultaneously. Therefore only one headlamp is on...

Check to make sure both head lamp bulbs are identical, ie; part numbers. If they look similar but are different numbers that can cause this issue.

2001 Cavalier High beams work,low beams don't

probably best to work backwards:
the fuse itself will be fine if the lights come on at all, so at least at that point it should be fine.
first you'll want to check with a known good bulb (or put bulbs in another car [if available] to verify they are fine) to make sure you don't just have 2 burnt out low beams (high and low beams are separate filaments)

if the known good bulb still doesn't work (but normal high beams and DRL do) check the contact points where the bulb gets plugged in for any corrosion, then onto the wiring itself, feel the wires for any signs of damage; extra stiffness, very darkened areas, or very sharp bends/kinks (as much as you can reach)

I have a 96 cavalier, Low beams quit working, high still work, (Bulbs o.k.)any thoughts??

The low beam and high beam are seperate, one can blow and the other will work, you need to replace the low beam bulb only, any auto parts store will have this bulb

My headlight just stopped working. One of my

dont replace the bulbs ...check the fuses first...each circuit has its own independent fuse...one for low beam one for high beam and a separate low voltage one for running lights...you may have 1 bad bulb at very worst that could have blown the fuse...why spend extra money on 2
