I have an 03 Honda fit the power steer works fine at very slow speeds anything over 40kmh it has no power steer and is very heavy to steer any ideas?

It could be the power steering pump is going out, or could be in the rack and pinion. That is a problem that you kind of need to see in person to figure out.

it is more than likley the power steer pump not pumping or the belt is broken

The Solenoid fitted on the Steering Rack is not getting the command from The Body Control Unit. Kindly Replace your BCM and then your problem is solved. You can try to make sure by giving direct current of 12v to the solenoid and check the Steering. if it works then simply change the BCM as it's not giving d command to the Solenoid. Salman EiD

The hassle has to be with the power steering pump..Check to make sure that the fluid level is up to spec and there are no leaks in the hoses.. If all looks good then the pump has an intermittent condition responsible for issue. U might want to wait till it goes completely or replace it.

Fortunately when a car is in motion the absence of of the assist is no big deal/ it helps with parking and other slow maneuvering.

Tight steering
wrong it can be .... the pump has an impeller in it
at low speeds it might be working fine.. but at higher speeds the impeller is slipping so it is not moving the oil like it should... replace the pump...

When I am turning into a parking space ( at slow speed) I have alot of vibration and pulling in the steering wheel, used to be just when going slow and making a tight turn now it is happening in turns that...
Check the power steering fluid and replace if low, also check for any slipping of the belt. I hope this helps, good luck
