To start, I coded my engine and got P0171 - Bank 1 System too Lean. From a stop, when I start out I have a sputter. I push the pedal more & there is no engine rev, and no acceleration. Then the engine kicks in strongly, I'll have acceleration up until about 20mph and then I can feel it kick in and feel like it's running at full power. I cleaned the Mass Airflow Sensor as well as the Throttle. Please advise.

I have had that problem before its most likely a dirty throttle body or a bad throttle position sensor or air idle control sensor some times cleaning the sensors will work before changing them

Yes, replace the MAF, then check if the lean condition goes away. It should.

MAF's are sensitive to cleaning. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.

This is usually an oxygen sensor, replace the O2 sensor located above the catalytic converter before replacing the evaporator purge canister.

P0171 is a lean bank one code. It is usually always a vacuum leak and is usually not an O2 sensor or a MAF sensor. The first step shoul have been to check for vacuum leaks.

What engine do you have?

Chevy Silverado error p1151

P1151 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 2

p1131 p1151 p0171 p0174 p1131 p1151 p0171 p0174
All of these p1131 p1151 p0171 p0174 codes indicate a problem with a lean condition. This engine is known for vacuum leaks, so before you start throwing oxygen sensors at the problem, it pays to perform some diagnostics.
Start by cleaning the MAF sensor. Spray the sensor with CRC MAF sensor cleaner. Next, check the plastic vacuum lines, especially where they meet with rubber boots. If they are cracked or the rubber is swollen, replace the line. Then check the rubber elbow that holds the PCV valve. That elbow is a know failure point. In fact, the entire PCV tubing is a trouble spot on these engines. (thanks Ford).
After you've checked for vacuum leaks, check the operation of the oxygen sensors. The easiest way to do that is to disconnect the sensor from the harness. Connect one lead of your digital voltmeter to the black wire on the sensor and the other lead to battery negative. Then start the engine and add fuel (either propane, starting fluid, or carb cleaner) into the throttle body to force the mixture to rich. You should see a corresponding increase in voltage as you add fuel (from 0 volts to slightly less than 1 volt). Start and stop the fuel enrichment and watch the meter to see if the volts drop as you stop adding fuel. If you see no change, the sensor is dead. Replace it.
You can also use the fuel enrichment procedure to locate intake gasket leaks.

This is the only info that didn't come back directly to FORD (yet still mentions it) instead of GM. Not to sure you got the correct code.

Engine code p0171-system too lean bank 1 engine code p0116 -engine coolent temp ckt range/perf What do these codes mean?

P0171....System too Lean (Bank 1)

P0116....Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Range/Performance Problem

right it means you have a faulty O2 sensor and i would imagine the one after the cat ,and the engine is running cold so its either a problem with no thermostat fitted or outside ambient temperature too cold and you will need to put a piece of cardboard in front of radiator to stop the air flow and the wind chill factor

2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 extended cab- diagnostics checked and got these codes- P0171, P0174, P0300, P0316. Can you tell me what they mean?

P0171------ system too lean bank#1
Po174------ system too lean bank#2
For these 2 codes, try cleaning the maf sensor (mass air flow), that is mounted in the big black hose that goes from the air filter housing to the throttle plate, if it is dirty, that will cause those 02 sensors to send a signal to the computor to lean the air fuel mixture. If cleaning it doesn't work, the sensors will probably need changing.
P0300---- Random/multiple cylinder misfire
P0316---- Cylinder misfire at start up---- first 100 revolutions.
On those 2 codes, you have to do some testing to find out why there is a misfire.
Possible causes:
dirty/malfunctioning injectors
weak coil pack
fowling spark plugs/wires
Low fuel pressure
