Someone will need to check all of the circuits to find the power drain.
Could be a stuck relay, short to ground, or faulty switch among other things.

SOURCE: Just got new battery from

The fact that your battery is drained makes me think you may have a short somewhere (where could be anyone's guess) This would put a constant drain on the battery. Have you checked your Voltage regulator or fuse? It's possible if the voltage regulator went bad that it could have blown a fuse causing your vehicle to shut off. -I had a lead wire come loose from the battery in a Van I owned. -while driving. The whole car went dead. -On the side of the road scratching my head looking at the engine. Ended up noticing some frayed wire... Got my wire strippers, trimmed it, re-attached and POOF! On my way again like new in 15 minutes. Have you installed any accessories recently that could have accidentally caused this?

SOURCE: Electrical problem with my toyota seca corolla AE92

you need a volt meter. unhook the positive side of the battery. set the meter to dc amps. touch one leed to the battery and the other to the positive cable making a circuit.if theres more than 1 amp or so being pulled, that will drain it in time. sart pulling fuses one by one untill the draw goes away.then you will know what circuit it is on. after that ,start chasin wires to find the short.

SOURCE: bought new battery some mornings

have you checked your battery post for corrosion build up?
give them a good cleaning, then give your wire leads that connect to the battery a good cleaning as well, wire brush, sandpaper, whatever you got to make them super clean so they can conduct that 12 volt current.

you might also want to follow those wires/cables/leads (whatever u wanna call them) ..and clean the other ends..or make sure they are not corroded..the ground wire especially.

clean them up real good..it costs you nothing, and may solve your problem.

hope this helps

SOURCE: battery dains when not running

The battery current draw may be caused by a few things, here are some to check: the most common is that a light stays on like the dome light, the brake l;ights may be staying on,aftermarket accessories can cause it as well, audio amplifiers or stereo equipment or aftermarket alarm systems, very common.

Am having grand cherokee limited edition 2003, 4.0 the problem is the batery keeps draining. I bought new batery but still drains.Always meet the batery dead. Please, help

If you have a loose fan/drive belt. That would cause the problem. Just tighten it up. Corroded conctions at the battery but you should have cleaned those when you bought the new battery. Have you had the Alternator checked? Perhaps loose or corroded connections at the alternator or a bad alternator. You can remove it and bring it in to a parts store. Many of them will run a check on your old one before selling you a new one. You could have left something on that drains the battery. A light somewhere or even a short causing a power drain.

My daughters 2003 Toyota Echo is eating batteries. I bought a new battery from AutoZone about a week ago and it is already dead. The altenator was checked and checked good. She told me the car is also...

You may have a "parasitic battery drain". (Hint: google "finding parasitic battery drains") Basically, there is something "on" that is draining the life of the battery even while the key is off. Common sources are courtesy lights under the hood and in the trunk; even in the sun visors. Also, anything that is hooked into the cigaretter lighter (or "power port") circuit. These items could be aftermarket car alarms, inverters for operating portable electronics, phone chargers etc. If you eliminate all these and still have the battery draining down, you may have a low amperage short somewhere. To find the circuit responsible, you will have to connect an ammeter in series with the battery negative cable. Say for example that it still shows a .1 amp drain--even with everything turned off. Start pulling fuses one at a time until the amp drain reads zero. The problem will be on the circuit of the last fuse you pulled. From there, you'll have to try and disconnect each item on that circuit until you find the culprit. It sounds tedious and it is.

87 f250 drained brand new battery

I would first have the alternator checked by an auto electrician to ensure it is working correctly and is providing the correct volume of current. It may be faulty and when driving you will be drawing battery power instead of power from the alternator to run the electrics. This will drain the battery.

Alternators do not last forever and if you are still running the original unit it is likely to be on it's last legs and you will need a replacement unit.

Unit has a draw somewhere that needs to be addressed. I have found the auto starts sometimes can cause this. But if the draw is through the negative side it could be tough. You should take it to the dealer and have them perform a draw test on the entire vehicle.

Battery drained dead in ocld weather

Could be both batteries went bad.
1) I would take battery back to where you bought it and have them test.
2) Check, or have someone check, that battery power is not being used when the key is off and the car is not being used in any way. There will be a slight trickle of power use, but nothing that would wear the battery down in less than 3-4 weeks.

Battery Drain

It is either a short somewhere in the electrical system or your alternator is bad. If worse came to worse what I have done. Is installed a switch in the power cable and then you just pop your hood and basically disconnect the battery every time, the switch just makes it easy. This is often a million times easier then finding a short somewhere in the miles of wiring.
Good luck I know how that is,
Lee
