SOURCE: how do u no if u have a bad head gasket or blown

Easiest way to test the intake gasket is to get a can of starting fluid and spray it around the intake area while the vehicle is running. Be careful, starting fluid is extremely flammable! If you notice an accelleration, or de-celleration while spraying the starting fluid, you can pinpoint the leak from there.

If you have a bad head gasket, you will see a white mucky substance on your oil dipstick.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

SOURCE: What is the torque spes

For 2004 Chevrolet Truck Silverado 2500HD 4WD 6.0L SFI 8cyl, the intake manifold, throttle body, fuel injection rail, and fuel injectors may be removed as an assembly. If not servicing the individual components, remove the manifold as a complete assembly.

Intake manifold bolts. Tighten intake manifold bolts first pass in sequence to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm). Tighten intake manifold bolts final pass in sequence to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

Probably a vacuum leak at the intake manifold. You can spray
carb cleaner around the edge of the manifold and the throttle body
to find the area where the o-ring is leaking.

Where is the upper intake manifold located on a 1997 Chevy 2500 van?

The upper part of the intake manifold is the plastic part of the assembly, it's held on with small 10 millimeter headed bolts. NOTE: This dosen't have to be removed to replace the lower intake gaskets.

I have a p1345 code on a 99 chevy 1500 5.7

start over! disconnect the battery. reset the dist. in properly aligned with TDC and #1 towards the front of the motor. once these steps have been taken and youre sure youre ready to fire it off, do so. make sure you set timing, you probably need to get a scanner and clear the codes. if you can afford one with "live data", it will serve you well if there are any further problems.

Trouble code 1345 crank sensor/camshaft sensor correlation

I had this same P1345 code on my 1998 GMC K1500 5.7 for about 2 years. Each time the code was erased, the "Service Engine Light" came right back on with the same code. I tried replacing the cam sensor, but that didn't solve it. I had the timing adjusted, it was out -13 degrees. After adjustment, the "Service Engine Light" went off, but only for a short time. Adjusting the timing is just a temporary mask on fixing the real problem and eventually you will run out of adjustment. I read about this same problem on another forum and someone recommended changing the distributor gear. So I checked the gear and a the teeth were worn. Replaced the gear ($35 part), readjusted the timing and the light has been off ever since. Apparently the gears in 96-99 are soft and wear enough to throw off the timing. This code is telling you the crank and distributor are out of sync. So before you start buying sensors and other misc. parts, try the distributor gear if you are getting a P1345 code.
