my wifes/ '04 Envoy XL rear-end suddenly dropped. What is the most likely cause of this?

  • jorgearturo1 Apr 04, 2009

Yes, the rear-end is significantly lower, as if there is a huge heavy load in the back of the vehicle.

The spring keeps the weight up... the shocks merely keep it from bouncing.

    Check for a broken spring.

What if my rear drops on my load leveling suspension on 2004 gmce nvoy

That means the air has left the shocks. The compressor may have a bad fuse or have stopped working all together. The level sensor may not be operating either.

Is it possible to lower the rear ride height on an 03 envoy xl by moving the air ride accuators?

If you can lower the actuators without damaging them, it should work. The ride height should drop the same amount that the actuators are lowered. Don't go too low or you will bottom out the air shocks.

Removing rear air suspension on GMC Envoy

Just behind right rear tire up in the wheel well. Air inlet is inside right rear quarter near the accessory inflator. Compressor runs 3 lines one for the accessory inflator and one for each air bag.
THere are also 2 sensors, one on each trailing arm that senses load and then raises and lowers accordingly.

What should i expect to pay to replace the rear struts? my envoy drops in the rear making mommy's car look like a low rider. it comes up once i turn on engine, but it's slow to do so.

You car has air ride suspension. The problem may or may not be the air springs, there are no "struts", have a shop check them for leaks.
