I have a Mercedes C200. The intruder alarm came on and I can't switch it off. I tried with my key fob but this won't work. I couldn't open the doors with the fob and had to open them manually. My key won't switch the engine on. How do I stop the alarm?

Locked the doors (which set the alarm) on my A class 140 (2001) - when I came back an hour later nothing worked via the key, so I had to manually open the driver door (which set off the alarm) luckily I had the main key with me which had the alarm immobiliser short circuit key attached (can be used by inserting in the socket located in the glove compartment - and it switches off the alarm). Tried re-setting the alam but the key still does not work.
strangely I had the driver electric window freeze open an hour earlier! - not sure if its all connected electrically ?
