The flashing s light means a transmission problem. The transmission computer is under the carpet on passenger side under where you put your feet. Pull down the carpet to see the diagnostic light. Turn on the key to count the flashes to get the code. Pulll a list of codes from the internet.
If your trans shifts properly if you manually shift it thru the gears, going from D1, D2 D3 but feels like it is starting in second when in drive at a stop, the computer is probably the issue, and can be repaired or exchanged for a good computer, lots of companies do this ,find 1 on the internet.
In this case, the fix could be as simple as replacing a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), or it could be as expensive as replacing the Transmission Control Module. And, it also states that failure to fix the electronic problem promptly can lead to more expensive mechanical problems. In other words, don't continue to drive it.
Theres a transmission cooling sensor and somtimes the wire comes loose from other repairs being done around it. or its just out. its on the left side sitting on the tranny. THATS WHY your d4 light is blinking
you have a transmission fault the D4 light blinks to tell you that there is a transmission problem when the light is blinking the transmission computer put the transmission into limp home mode so it will not shift normally and you should try not to drive it very far when it gets to this stage you need to have the transmission codes check to pin point the problem
