Remote keycontrol the remote key does not work.the second one is working.the one with the problem is working correctly with the ignition.it s just does not give signal to open the doors.i changed the battery but nothing happened.the only thing i checked in a digital counter is that when i push the buttons it s sometimes gives signals but not all the time.i also cleaned the pad with a special contact cleaner but still nothing

Hi Craig,
I'm running a E34 Tds Touring with a similar problem, my rear doors and tailgate have dropped of the central locking circuit.
I have been told it is the Central locking Module a large black box under the dash that is faulty, apparently a common problem.
Hope this points you in the right direction,

Check your alarm. because the alarm system has a engine immobilizer which makes the engine do what you are experiencing. Take the car to the dealer and tell them what is going on and they will reset the car system.

You must reset your remote control in order for the lock/unlock to work properly.

To reset remote you would:
1)Insert Key in Ignition Turn to Position 1(Don't Start the Engine) for about 5 seconds
2)Turn Key Off and HOLD the LOCK button on Remote while pressing the UNLOCK 3 TIMES
3)Release both lock and unlock buttons you are holding
4)All doors should automatically unlock

And exit the door and lock with the Remote.

You do not say what year your car is, here is standard programming for most bmw,s,after battery or key replacement or malfunction.
Unlock car,enter, make sure all doors boot etc are closed.
Switch ignition on and off,remove key.
PRESS AND HOLD unlock button.
Press lock button 3 times in 10 seconds
Release unlock button
Some models led flashes in key for 10 seconds
Later keys central locking will lock unlock rapidly to confirm reset.
Later keys without led has no battery replacement,as it charges as you drive.So if you have this type charge before reprogramming
