that could be transmission issue/ front end issue/ with out driving the vehicle hard to say.
my 88 had overdrive shudder going up hill transmission need a rebuild. that all i got with out driving the veh srry.
when trying to figure out what going on with the veh you need to isolate the cause of the vibration , front. rear of the veh.put the veh on jack stand and drive it see if you can figure were that vibration is comeing from
could be or motor mounts one way to tell what is going on is to check rims rotate back to front see if it still is happing or jack up car if its front wheen car jack up front block back with have some one get in pull e break put in gear stand back and watch tire spin and see what one is moving around cound be a aliment promblem will do something along this line also good luck
Hi, nice car i loved that model tough on gas tough, heavy body! Now the front wheel. i would jack it up and spin it by hand and listen real good, you can also put a solid bar on parts of the hub and also around that area and put the bar near your ear. If its bad it will sound off like you wouldnt beleive. Do both sides of car so you can hear the difference. First just spin it before going to a bar, just might hear it like that. Ask somone to spin it for you if you need to use the bar. Dont forget to put a horse under the car so the car doesnt fall from the jack on you. Alot of people die every year because of no horse. Let me know ! Frank
you lift the car up on jacks so that the tires are off the ground, then you put jack stands in placement.
then you loosen ONLY THE BOLTS ON THE TIRE IN THE AIR
remove the tire let the car down on to the jack stands, and move the jack to the next and do the same
what you do is take the passenger side back tire and switch it with the drivers side front tire. then you take the drivers side back tire and switch it with the passenger side front tire. make sure the bolts are tight as you can get them then you are done. i hope this information helps. Be careful and drive safe!
have you checked air in tires? let me go over some things to check for you.it could be a bad ball joint on either the passenger or drivers side front.could also be a bad universal joint in the driveline shaft. have you had it off road lately and hit something in roadway?it may just need alignment.to check ball joints you'll need to jack front of car up, make sure to use jack stands to insure safety. with it up in air check for in and play in each wheel, physically push top and bottom of each wheel in and out. if there is play in tires, most likely a bad ball joint.or to check driveline u joint, recommend you leave it to a pro.it entails you crawling under the car while on jack stands w/car in park and emegeacy brakes on. shake drive line up and down, if there is any play in it. the u joints bad. ther are 2 1 infront and 1 in back next to rearend. hope this helps and thank you for visiting fix ya
Most likely a bad wheel bearing assembly, Jack up each wheel individualy starting at right front (passenger) under lower control arm, just enough to get tire of the ground. With tire still on place hands on outside of tire at 3 oclock & 9 oclock & try to move in & out, push & pull. If there is play it will need to be replaced. Check all 4 wheels this way.
Thumping noises and vibrations can be something as simple as a tread separation(or a big bubble) on one of your tires. As for the one wheel turning---that's perfectly normal. If you grab the wheel that's turning (not really recommended) and stop it completely, the other wheel will spin.
would that be the inner or outer bearing.
I only changed the caliper for that side and you can see that the brake sinching down on the rotor.
