I would like to know the correct spark plug gap for my 1990 1.8L VW Golf GL. I have looked all around and can't find it.
SOURCE: What is the correct spark
The proper spark plug gap for a 2.0L is .7 to.9 mm or .28 to .35 inchs. If you are using multiple electrode plugs, gap is not adjustable. Also when you put your new plugs back in the book calls for 15 ft.lbs. of torque, so don't tighten them too hard ( aluminum strips easy). Hope this helps.
Testimonial: "That's what I wanted to know, plus a key warning that I needed to know (but didn't realize it beforehand)."

this is a 1.8L but the firing order is the same for a 1.4, just can't find a picture of that engine,
SOURCE: what is the correct gap for a set of contact
SPARK PLUG GAP IS 0.024 TO 0.028 AND CONTACT POINTS GAPS SETTING IS 0.016. DWELL ANGLE IS 44 - 50 DEGREES.
