What is the fault code? If you don't know you need to have it tested with a scanner that reads all JAG codes, that means the dealer.

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

You might want to surf the internet for Universal Cruise control kits. They are offered by TONS of auto parts chains & outlets. To fit OEM Jag cruise to yours that doesn't have (I presume) would be outrageously high dollar for parts. If you have speciality shop near you (non Jag dealer) ask them for recommendation.

The 2004 X type is before the Bluetooth technology they didn"t start till late 2005, However you can have the wiring harness and module adapted to your 2004 radio for a low cost of about $1,600 dollars from the dealer.

It means that it is switching to limp home mode, the computer has detected an engine problem, you need to get a code reader or take it to somone who has one and read out the fault codes to see what is faulty/needs replacing.

did you try your nearest jaguar dealer they can probably help you good luck ray

Looks like you have acommunication problem with the computer, it is going in to safe mode. Check all computer connections before you go to jaguar.
I have attached a picture of the error code.
