2001 Honda crv rear door lock barely works

The rear door latch that releases the rear window so I can open the rear door appears to be a white plastic part that looks ragged and almost shredded. The lock is stiff, but it appears to be the latch, not the lock. Does anyone know the name of this latch? Is it expensive and/or hard to fix?

The Rear hatch door handle does not unlock

had this problem myself.... you gotta go in through the back and take the plastic/vinal cover off the rear door and look for the lock from the inside..... unlock it .... open the door and then you can repair and lube the mechanism while standing outside like a human being. its not very hard to do.. just take your time and don't force anything.

What would cause the rear door latch to work correctly when unlocked, yet when locked to completly release the door so it can open on it's own?

Make sure that the striker plate is adjusted right. Most have an adjustment you can set. you may need a special wrench.

2001 Toyota Sienna r.h. sliding door ''rear latch switch'' location

To start, the noun "''rear latch switch'' is incorrect. It's actually called "Slide Door Lock". It's located on page BO-20 of the Toyota Repair Manual for the 2001 Sienna. There are two door locks on one sliding door. One in the front and one in the rear. Obviously, you want the one in the rear. The location for the "Slide Door Lock" (which also contains an electric switch) is in the rear of the sliding door located mid way up door. You can see (sliding door opened from the back) it without dissembling the door. And, the lock is made up of plastic (dirty white in color).

1998 honda crv bonnet wont release to open it what

Try pushing down on the hood while someone else pulls the lever to open the hood. Then lift up and release latch as usual.
Could be broken spring in latch.

Fuel door won't release open

The fuel door lock motor is in the rear wagon portion of the car.

The lock motors on these cars tend to seize up. Most customers opt to remove the plastic latch piece on the fuel door. This will prevent it from latching again as well.

If you can not find the fuel door release, you can work your hands behind the passengers side rear panel. You will feel for the lock motor, which is just aft of the fuel door itself. You should be able to pull it back to open the fuel door.

If you plan on fixing it, you will most likely need a new lock motor for the fuel door.

If by any chance the windows do not work, then the problem is the window switch as it also powers the fuel door lock motor.

Drivers door will not open from inside or out

If you,ve managed to gain access to the lock mechanism the only thing you can do is to try to dismantle it from inside the door. You may have to destroy it to get it apart but you can then move the latch to open the door. Then remove rest of lock mechanism and replace. You should be able to pick one up from a car breaker for approx £10

Probably a issue with your actuator... there is a recall due to the "latching system does not meet the inertia load requirement" might want to check with the dealership to see if your vehicle is with this group, hope this helps :)

Central Locking

The best way to open a door that will not open is to lower the window and put a coat hanger down by the latch and pull the latch up and the door will open. Then I was able to fix it. I did not have to pull the panel off. For anyone having the same problem this works every time.
