    Trouble Code: P1361

Top Dead Center Sensor 1 Circuit Intermittent Signal

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine running, and the PCM detected an
unexpected or intermittent interruption of the Top Dead Center 1 (TDC1)
    sensor signal.
    Possible Causes:

TDC1 signal circuit is open or shorted to ground

TDC1 signal circuit is shorted to VREF or system power

TDC1 pickup assembly or its pulse rotor is damaged

TDC1 is damaged or has failed

    PCM has failed

for some reason my book doesn't say exact location. It says on or near head next to #1 cylinder

  • Anonymous Apr 03, 2009

Actually it is your crankshaft position sensor. That explains why it sounded unfamiliar to me. It is the crank sensor. It is located in the front of the engine block. Possibly under timing cover but not exact

P1361 is: Intermittent Interruption In TDC 1 Sensor Circuit.
Check out the TDC sensor, connector 124 (grey and on the distributor) check power and grounds. It's missing a signal from the TDC sensor in the distributor and causing a misfire.

Honda civic feria 2002 P1361

Here is what the code for that says. I would just recommend changing that sensor first to see if it will fix the issue completely. You'll need to disconnect your battery after you change the sensor. This will help your computers reset correctly, and more efficiently.

What is involved to fix check engine light codes P1361 and P1362 and how much should I pay a reputable mechanic

The code P1361 and P1362 can relate to a TDC sensor failure, the plug could be dirty or you may need to replace the sensor. Here's a walkthrough:

http://www.civicforums.com/forums/115-engine/323984-diy-tdc-sensor-cmp-sensor-replacement-w-pics.html

P1362 means the PCM isn't getting a signal from the TDC sensor. The TDC sensor is actually the camshaft position sensor.

TDC is also a Crank Position Sensor, Advanced Auto Parts has them for $70, or you can pick it up from your local dealer.

How do I fix a Interruption in TDC #1 sensor circuit problem on a 2001 Honda Civic? THe code is P1361 and P1362

P1361 is a misfire code, and P1362 is a TDC sensor (or crankshaft position sensor) code. The known possible repair is to replace the crankshaft position sensor. You may have to ask for a tdc sensor as some parts providers follow the mfr's part name.

My honda civic 98, had a check light engine ON P1361 and P1399

P1361 is an intermittent signal from the TDC sensor .. thats located under the top timing belt cover on the right side of the engine .. about half way down that cover is the connector for the TDC sensor .. check that connector and its wiring ...P1399 is an ignition problem .. and thats likely caused by the TDC sensor being intermittent .. you might be able to fix the connector if its loose or full of water but the sensor is hard to get to .. very tight place to work in but not impossible .. this is something that should be fixed soon .. no emergency but the timing may drift off if the problem persists ..

Code P1361 is ignition coil circuit low. You'll have to do some electrical troubleshooting to locate the cause.

Low oil will also can also result in the oil pressure sending unit cutting power to fuel pump relay. This is done to prevent engine damage due to low oil.

P1361 TDC Sensor Intermittent Interruption (I got this from Engine-Light-Help.com)
TDC should mean Top Dead Center.
It is the sensor that tells the computer the #1 cylinder piston is at the very top. And therefore, fires the spark plug.

Since the maintenance done above, I believe the the timing marks for the timing belt is not lined up properly. Being off by one tooth will cause this problem.
