Try spraying penetrating lubricant or graphite into it, wiggle and try. Spray inside and press the button and spray between the button and the housing. If this dosen't work you can try looking into the seat belt with a flash light and see if you can see anything moving compare with a belt that works properly. If not successful you will have to replace the seat belt assembly as they cannot be taken apart as they are a safety item and are replaced as an assembly.

My nissan xterra 2002 has noise coming from one of the belts how can i tighting the water pump belt?

Most likely the noise you are hearing is because the belt is older and has dried out. Replace the belt with a new flexible belt and your noise will probably subside. I always replace the tensioner when I replace the belt so that it doesn't go bad later. Here is a link to a great video that a person posted:

Broken seat belt buckle

If I had the problem I would look at a junkyard or on line at e-bay for a replacement. You will need to get the buckle and the belt that it is attached to that goes down to the floor down through the crack in the seat.
Remember the buckle receiver is made for the certain belt in the front and rear seats. I have often tried to put the wrong belt in a buckle and it would not fit. ( Example: the right belt goes in the right buckle.)
Be blessed.

2002 nissan xterra timing belt would that effect the internal engine damage?

Timing belts should be changed every 60,000. Different car makes state different mileage but as a whole 60,000 miles and you should replace the timing belt.

The belt keeps the crankshaft and camshaft in time with one another. And is very important. If you dont change them when they need changing. It can cause extreme engine damage so yes it can effect the internal engine damage.

Have nissan xterra 2002 133000 miles. Stoped at stop light last night and timing belt broke. Was at a complete stop when this happened. Could this have messed up the engine on bend a valve.

its known as an interference engine however since it was idling i would give it 60/40 your favor.put a belt on it and hope for the best!

When do you change a timing belt on an 02 xterra

you would want to verify, but most likely 90,000 to 100,000 miles.

Hello, i have a 2002 nissan xterra. I just had the timing belt and water pump changed at 100k just for preventive maintenance purposes. Now, one week later the engine is making a whining noise at low...

These Nissans are giving trouble with the tensioner pully. When they retightened it after replacing your belt it probably made it start squealing. More tension than it had before. Get it checked. If it locks up it will damage the engine. I have heard of the dealer fixing some lower mileage ones for free.

Timing belt sliped

Normally YES, I would have a new belt fitted and try it just in case. I have had several 'interference' motors break a belt and not damage any valves. Its worth taking a chance before running the expense of pulling the heads off for inspection.

2002 Nissan Xterra V6 3.3l 4WD Chirping in Engine

I have the same problem in my Nisan Titanwhen it has rained lately. Either moisture has gotten into the pulley system, or the belt is loose. it could be something else though.
