Sounds as if you may have a faulty diode in the alternator. Have AutoZone or Advance auto parts will check it for free.

SOURCE: Dashboard goes on and off. Won't start.

Same problem on Buick Reatta and Riv's The most common problem lies in the connection at the battery, The large positive terminal often doesnt tighten up.to provide a good constant contact one thing I found is to use a longer bolt with lock washers. The flickering of the dash is associated with this anad there may be a loose connection behind the dash itself, The electronic dashes of that era were hypersensitive to changes in the current, Make sure that all of the connections at the battery are tight. Also did you check the alternator for proper operation?

SOURCE: Voltmeter drops to 9 volts on Chev 454 P30 motorhome

this is eithere a loose positive cable from the altenator to the battery or the regulator in the altenator is about to fail. if you have not had any problems starting the vehicle then most likely its a loose connection between the gauge and the charginging circuit or the gauge is faulty. take a multimeter and test the charging votage at the altenator while the vehicle is running it should measure 13.5 volts and should not change more than .5 volts. if the voltage drops more than 1 volt the regulater is bad and the altenator needs to be replaced. if it is working fine then looke for a bad connection make sure all positive and ground cables are tight. if they are replace amp gauge

How do I release my fuel flap on my 2008 zafira please

Open tailgate, pull back trim/look in cubbyhole space on fuel filler side of the car. Locate motor and manually activate lock plunger.

Once you have the trim off you can see the motor - look for the rod thats poking into the fuel flap and just move it with a pair of thin nosed pliers - if you then disconnect the plug it won't re lock when you lock the car - have you checked all the fuses as for the central locking to stop it has to be a fuse.

Sounds like it skipped timing. Get this checked quickly if its a timing belt and not a chain. If the belt breaks you got big problems.

INTERMITTENT BATTERY DRAINS ARE HARD TO FIND. TURN OFF ALL SWITCHES IN THE VEHICLE. MAKE SURE THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT LITE IS GOING OUT. OPEN THE HOOD. CLOSE ALL THE DOORS. MAKE SURE ALL OF THE COURTESY LITES ARE GOING OFF. DISABLE ANY UNDER THE HOOD LIGHTS. REMOVE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. USE A 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT, FASTEN ONE END TO A GOOD GROUND, { METAL PART OF THE MOTOR} . FASTEN THE OTHER END TO THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF THE BATTERY. IF THE TEST LIGHT LIGHTS UP THERE IS A BATTERY DRAIN. IF NO LIGHT , NO DRAIN. IF THE LIGHT IS ON LOOK IN THE FUSE/RELAY BOX NEAR THE BATTERY. PULLOUT THE FUSES, LARGE & SMALL ONE AT A TIME, IF THE LIGHT STAYS ON PUT THE FUSE BACK IN TRY THE NEXT FUSE. WHEN THE LIGHT GOES OUT, THAT IS THE CIRCUIT CAUSING THE DRAIN. IF IT NEVER GOES OUT, DISCONNECT THE ALTERNATOR. IF THAT MAKES THE LIGHT GO OUT, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ALTERNATOR. IF THE LIGHT IS NEVER ON, YOU MAY HAVE TO DO THIS ANOTHER DAY TO FIND THE DRAIN. ALSO HAVE THE NEW BATTERY RECHECKED.
