Doors unlock by themself - 1998 Lexus ES 300

a. When you lock the doors (with the Switch) with you inside... do they stay locked?
b. Do your Doors lock automatically when you put it in gear?

Have you tried using a Different FOB (Remote). If one Remote works properly and One Unlocks the Doors after locking... you have a Defective (FOB) Remote

Check door switch connection and operation.
If the door switch is part of the door lock mechanism, within the door itself, then remove door panel, disconnect the mechanism's electrical connector and re-check that the interior light no longer comes on with that door ajar. If it doesn't, then you likely have a faulty door lock mechanism, which you will have to replace.
This faulty switch will also have the affect on your random central locking function.


This is not likely connected to the engine performance issue.

The issues you describe are too complex to troubleshoot/diagnose here. Have a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose these issues.

Having the same problem with my 03. Couple things to try:

1. Remove the batteries one of your keyfobs when you park for the night. Make sure the doors are still unlocked. If it's not locked in the morning, you'll need a new battery or keyfob. If that doesn't work, test the other keyfob the next night.

2. If you're also having trouble getting the windows to go up, it might your master switch on the driver's door. But, if no trouble with the windows, I'd doubt this is the issue.

3. You can wiggle the wiring harness in the driver's side door to see if you can make the door lock that way. If so, you might have a loose connection. Nissan tried to tell me that the wiring harness needed to be replaced, but that didn't help.

the door lock relay is not fuctioniung correct no longer

are all the doors shut, if so could be a bad sensor on one of the doors.

the spring inside of one of your door lock switches is bad so it it staying in either lock or unlock. see which one and replace
