The interior lights of my 1994 Lincoln Continental stay on. THe cover of the fuse panel has all of the fuses numbered - not labeled - and says SEE OWNERS MANUAL, however I do not have the owner's manual. Any suggestions on this? Could you help me determine which fuse controls the interior lights? I thought I had looked into this problem in the past and found that the fuse that controls the interior lights also controlled something else that was rather important, which is why I never pulled the fuse. Maybe, hopefully, I'm wrong! Thanks for your help!!
I have checked all the door closings, as well as the dial to turn them on and off. All the door closings work, but the lights do not go off. After the car has been turned off for about 10-15mins, the lights go out, but if it is running, they stay on.I have checked all the door closings, as well as the dial to turn them on and off. There is one fuse but it covers many of the interior lights. Not sure if your having problems with them all. This fuse covers the door courtyesy lights as well reading lamps, storage bin lamps, glove box and a few other. If this may be what you're looking for it is in the power distribution box located in the engine campartment. It will be in the number 31 position (see diagram below) and it is a 15 amp fuse. I hope this was what you are looking for and that it helped. Good luck.
Pull Fuse #31 in your driver side under dash fuse panel. Bottom means closest to the floor. Second row from bottom. Second fuse in from driver side door 15A. Controls all interior lighting and courtesy lights. Under hood and trunk.
Pull it and your good to go until you drop off to have the control module replaced. You're Welcome!
i have an 89 mark 7,with a feature called courtesy lights.just touch the door handle at night and the interior lights all come on.they will go out after a couple of minutes if i dont enter the car. it is a good thing i think.
I have heard there is a door sensor relay that can cause this problem when it goes bad, however i have not been able to locate this relay.
What i did do to better the situation is pull fuse 31 (15amp) out of the fuse pannel under the driver side dash and this will disable all of the interior lights and nothing else. I know this does not fix anything but at least i dont get dead batterys anymore.

Have you tried figuring out what's keeping interior lights on in the first place, or has it been diagnosed already?
