Oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord

My honda would turn over but not start, i replaced the fuel filter and i have fuel pressure from the pump. Still would not start, I checked spark and had spark but lots of oil around plug boot. Replaced the spark plugs and it started immediately. Drove 20 miles and at low rpm it wants to stall. My question is can all the oil around the plugs cause it to foul out and is it a seal that might be leaking.

I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 1992 HONDA ACCORD EX/EX-R WITH OIL ALSO AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE SPARK PLUG AREA CAUSING THE CAR TO HESITATE WHEN I AM IN THE DRIVE POSITION AND I'M AT A STOP LIGHT. THE CAR HAS SHUT OFF ON ME, AND IT TENDS TO LOSE POWER. I HAVE HAD 2 SETS OF SPARK PLUGS PUT IN, AND THE AUTO SPECIALIST SPRAYED A CERTAIN TYPE OF CHEMICAL ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SPARK PLUG AREA TO DRY THEM OUT, AND SO FAR, IT'S OK.

Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.

These have problem matic distrubtor parts so you should check for spark if you have spark then go on to replace parts as needed and the oil is from a bad valve cover gasket

Yes it is possible.Oil tends to rubberize the wires and it turns them to mush. The oil leak is from the valve cover gasket change that and it shouldn't get them saturated any more..HOPE THIS HELPS YOU AND HAVE A GREAT DAY

1992 mercury sable will turn over but wont start

Make sure battery has a full charge. If it cranks good but won't start, check the basics. Have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs, if spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. I looked at info for the 3.8L engine, 35--40 psi. Also, after you build fuel pressure, turn off the key, see if fuel pressure holds for a bit? If the pressure drops like a rock, check for fuel pressure leak. Check the vac line for fuel pressure regulator, if it has gas in it, the regulator is faulty, or a leaking fuel injector. The pressure could also drain back through fuel pump.
Also, check fuel injector pulse, engine cranking. Any applicable trouble codes?
Smell of the crankcase oil dipstick, if it smells like gas, either you don't change oil and filter very often or the engine is running very rich for some reason.

What would cause my 1992 honda accord to stop without overheating, it does turn over like its trying to start

Your going to have to check for spark, Accords had problems with the igniter in the distributor, also check for fuel pressure 34-41 PSI, now when the igniter fails there is no spark and no fuel pressure because there is no power to the pump,

My 2002 honda accord has a hard time starting on cold mornings the car spinns i can smell fuel and after turning over for a couple of min. it will start

The solution to you're problem is quiet simple ! You'll have to spend a few bucks, and replace your spark plugs !

If you do that, you're issues will be resolved, along with a better pick up power of your car.
Also, if the problem still persists, change your fuel filter/oil filter !

1992 Honda Accord will start and idle, but dies on acceleration and when put in gear. Cat is not plugged. New fuel filter installed. Please advise.

Sounds like the fuel pump. Have the fuel pressure checked with a Pressure Test Guage. Different cars have different fuel pressure requirements, but for a fuel injected vehicle should be somewhere in the area of 40-60 psi. Also check that fuel filter was not installed backwards, on some vehicles this can restrict fuel flow,

1992 Honda accord wont start and stay running.

MAKE YOU HEAR FUEL PUMP RUNNING WHEN TURN ON IGNITION KEY. IF NOT CHECK FUSE AND RELAY.IF YOU HEAR PUMP RUNNING. CHECK FUEL PRESSURE.IT SHOULD 36 TO 40 PSI.IF NOT REPLACE FUEL FILTER.IF FUEL PRESSURE IS STILL LOW FUEL PUMP IS BAD.
