Can someone please help me. The engine light is on in my car. The computer read that the tps sensor needs to be replaced. Is this sensor part of the transmission? I had the transmission rebuilt about a year ago and the same code came up but they told me that their was nothing wrong with the sensor. What can I do to resolve this issue? Does anyone else have this problem?
The sensor does control trans. It takes a reading to where the throttle is and tells the trans what gear to be in and when to shift, down shift. So if your getting that reading and the car does not seem to be shifting right suspect that sensor..Hope this helps you and have a great day>>>

TPS is ur throttle position sensor located on the side of ur throttle body. must be replaced at certified shop. ecm update needed to be performed after
TPS is indeed part of the throttle body,it is riveted on. maybe buy a used throttle body from junk yard and drill it out or use the one from the yard. when you reset the codes it will go out and run rought......wait entill the lite comes on and it should run fine.put a peice of tape over the cel.so you will not be distracted.drive baby drive.
