It sounds like the lock connecting rod is loose or the servo is not working. Does the passenger side door open with the key? If it does, the connecting rod is OK, but the servo will still be no 1 suspect.
Change the battery in the remote, then reprogram the remote, {key fob}activator inside door making any sound? If so, the connection is working, just not sending the correct signal.
Yes - Sometimes when the battery is replaced the key program can be corrupted. It would be a starting point to have the key reprogrammed just to eliminate it as a source of trouble.
