01 chevy impala. power mirrors not working. Also the gas gauge only tells you the real amount when you first start the car, otherwise its all the way on full or jumping all over. solution?

Check all fuses and relays. As far as the gas gauge, you may need a new fuel pump, fuel pump relay, or the float on the fuel pump is loose or came off from ear and tear.The mirrors: check the fuses; also, check, or have the button panel in the door checked to ensure the connection are secure. May need a new switch for the mirrors. I am not familiar with this vehicle; but this is what I suggest doing to solve the issues.

Probably fuel gauge sender in the tank or the fuel gauge in the dash.

You need to test your fuses. Go through with a tester and test each one. Verify you haven't lost your ground straps running from the back of your block to the firewall.

Most likely you have a faulty sending unit in the fuel tank. The sender is a rheostat and can lose its electrical contact in parts of its travel distance from full to empty.

I have a 2002 Chevy Impala about a couple months ago it started having a heavy gas smell and also when i start it to let it run in the mornings it has alot of smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe and on...

what color is the smoke? sounds like air/fuel ratio is off! that could be a vacuum leak, IF air/fuel is off!
the gauge not working is your sending unit in the gas tank!

My gas meter doesnt tell the real gas amount. what do i do?

The fuel sender is part of the fuel pump module.the gas tank has to be removed and the module and fuel pump replaced..usually the gauge sender failure means the fuel pump failure is not far behind.On alot of GM vehicles,the fluctuating gauge will trigger the check engine light.

u will need to drop the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump module which contains the gas gauge sending unit, it is not sold separately.
