Hi. when I lock the doors with the fob all doors lock except for the drivers door which I have to lock with the key. when I open the doors with the fob all doors open except for the drivers door which has to be opened once again with the key. I had it checked at the garage with the computer they attached to the car and nothing showed up so has anyone any idea on this problem 2005 sharan
If one door is not responding to both open & lock, then it is likely that the solenoid that moves the mechanics has failed or the cable to it is interrupted somewhere.
There will a a fuse and a relay related to all doors but the switch at each door controls that door or, nearly always in the opposite direction, allows locking all of them.
That latter position turns on the relay that is the master control while the first applies fused voltage via the switch itself.
It would help searching for the problem if you had a low-cost multimeter; under $20 at Radio Shack & auto parts stores or under $10 at Harbor Freight Tools.
This would allow you to check for missing voltage and/or continuity.
A service manual from Haynes or Chilton (if available) would provide electrical diagrams to aid in tracing wiring.
