Hey when my car is on and I turn on and off the AC/Fan my car shuts off. If I have AC actively engaged the lights dim and it might shut off.
You would need to find out if it is a problem with the compressor or the blower motor. You could pull the compressor relay or unplug the compressor to find out.

the check engine light is on most likely because you might have low fluid levels either oil , or coolant. if the levels are good there is an active code in the ecm. if your vehicle has been running rough it is most likely due to a bad O2 sensor. please rate this solution.

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but did u check your anti-freeze level? If it's low, you won't have heat, if it gets a little lower than that, your car overheats. countrycurt0

It could be several things . One i would have the fuel pressure tested , you may have a bad fuel pump. Two a bad coil pack , if they are going bad they can heat up and fail.Three the ECM or CPU may have gone bad or going bad . Witch would explane after sitting will start again.I would start with the fuel system making sure you have fuel pressure . It could also be the fuel filter that could explane low fuel pressure .
