Steering wheel shutters/hard to turn

I have a 2000 honda accord 4cyl.
replaced the power steering pump w an autozone refurbed.
flushed out the fluid w honda fluid
new belt
tight tension
some times when the wheel is turned the left or right its hard to turn like it doesnt have powersteering, and the after a sec of that its easy. only when turning the wheel.
added more fluid was at min and it made a small difference but still have the problem, i was thinkin it the rack cus after the fluid was flushed its a lil brown not dark oil but tan. the honda oil is clear. so im guessing the new fluid in an old rack is the problem. the rack has 150k miles on it

Sadly it sounds like the rack and pinion is going bad..rebuilt units are available ...you'll need a 4 wheel alignment after replacement.  Get this fixed as it very dangerous and will only get worse

1996 honda accord after changing the power steering belt and run the eng, the power steering reservor is over flowing and lots of bubbes. and loud noise every time you turn to lt and rt .the lines was...

It sounds as if you have a volume of air in your power steering system. This is causing the bubbling and also some of the noise you might be generating when you turn the wheels hard right or hard left. This air might have been introduced if your old belt was slipping so much that the pump was essentially not operating and fluid wasn't regularly circulating throughout the system. Another, more expensive possibility is that your old belt was slipping because the power steering pump itself was starting to fail, and the new, grippier belt is turning the damaged pump and showing you its lack of functionality.
The first and easiest thing to do would be to bleed the system. Open the hood and take the cover of the power steering fluid reservoir. With the engine off but the steering wheel unlocked, slowly turn the steering wheel all the way to one side and then to the other. Repeat this several times while watching the power steering reservoir. Is the fluid bubbling? If so, good, you're purging air out of your system. In general, this is easier with the front wheels off the ground, but that is not absolutely necessary (if you have strong arms).
Once you have purged the system, put the cap back on the power steering reservoir, topping it off if the fluid level has dropped to the fill mark. Now, restart your car and observe the power steering pump. Does it seem to be operating quietly and smoothly? If you touch the pump 1-2 minutes after the engine has been running, is it hot to the touch? It will probably be warm, but _hot_ is an indication that something is overheating inside the pump. Is the power steering fluid very dark colored or does it smell burned? This is also a sign that the fluid should be changed ASAP and that some internal damage may have occurred. Burned fluid isn't necessarily an indication that your power steering pump is bad. However, if after changing your PS fluid the new fluid quickly becomes dark and starts smelling burned, then it's probably time to start saving money for a new or rebuilt power steering pump.

97 honda accord hard steering. power steering pump and rack have been replaced but still have hard steering

My guess is that you have air in the system. Turn the steering wheel all the way left, and then all the way right several times. Check the fluid level before and after.

I have a honda accord 1993. I had a leaking power steering pressure line and a bad rack and pinion that I just replaced, but now I have a howling sound when i'm driving the vehicle. it makes the sound...

Is the fluid low?

Did you replace it with an aftermarket pump?

Aftermarket pumps are notorious for making noise. Your nest bet is to get a good used part or get one from the dealer.

If there is a lot of foam in the fluid it will cause the same noise also. You can add an ounce of seafoam motor tune (available at any good parts store) to the power steering fluid. This will help reduce the faoming fluid.

The last thing I can think of is did you use Honda powersteering fluid? If not your going to want to flush the powersteering system ASAP so you don't ruin the parts you just replaced.

Sounds from power steering in 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

U are going to have to have the power steering sytem fluid flushed and the power steering pump replaced, make sure the fluid in the system is clean before u replace the pump or u will ruin the new pump.

Power steering pump

Yes in most cases the pump rotor vanes cause this noise, there are additives that can help like one made by Lucas Oil, but if it is really whinning then that will be a watse of money, if you end up putting on a rebuilt pump make sure to flush all the old fluid out or the pump you just spent your hard earned money on will get noisey to.
