Battery Dead, can't get into trunk to jumpstart

My battery died on my 1997 Audi A8, because I accidentally left my lights on. Now the car has absolutely no power and can not even open up the trunk anymore. So now I can't jump start the battery. I have been trying to find if there were jump terminals under the hood, but I can't seem to locate them. If you can help me with locating these terminals or some other way for me to get enough power to pop the trunk, it would be very appreciated

I bought this car used and only have the ignition key. Is this keyhole made for the ignition key or a specific trunk key?

Can not access the trunk from the inside.

I'm up for any ideas at this point.

Let me see if i can find a wiring diagram to check the colors of the trunk release.

Can you see behind the switch to determine the color of the wire??

if you're constantly running into this problem.... or want a backup for the future - there are chargers made to plug in to the lighter socket too.

can you access the trunk from the inside? (fold down seats)

If so, you can crawl in the trink and manually release the trunklid.

I can give you a way to jumper the trunk release using the wiring under the dash if you're up for it.

Remove the bottom cover below the engine and connect a battery charger or jump box to the big red wire on the alternator. Ground to the alternator case or engine block.

Wait about 5 minutes - and try to pop the trunk. Then charge the battery as normal.

I'm not sure what an "A8" is.
Is it an Audi ?
Call the dealer for the company that made the car and ask them. You may need to make several calls to get an answer.
God bless your efforts.

How can I jumpstart my car from my friends 2009Audi A8

You want to use the battery in the engine compartment, the one the alternator charges. I just connect the batteries directly pole to pole. When you rev up the engine the alternator will increase the output going into your battery.

Where's the positive terminal on the 1997 audi a8. My battery is no longer working and I need to charge battery to get open trunk

If you look at the engine area you will see the postive jump point, let me see if i can locate a picture of this location.heres a diagram of the engine compartment, theres a fuse /relay box in the left rear, this is if you are standing in the front of the car looking in engine compartment, look for a terminal to connect the postive cable and ground the other to metal in the engine compartment, this is only to be used to acess the truck to get to battery, also look around the engine most times theres a postive hook up sometimes neear or on motor, good day,johnjohn2_115.gif

Were is my fuse box for my radio speakers on my 97 audi a8

Well there is a fuse panel above the battery compartment (left rear of trunk) that removes with a finger twistable lever. In that compartment are some spade fuses and one maxi fuse. I DONT know if they are for the stereo speakers or not.
