SOURCE: Smoke

  1. Sometimes the steam from under the hood, because it is over heat.

  1. Check the water hose include the heater hose, it is a smaller hose behind the engine on the top near the back of the hood, find out which hopes is leaking.

  1. If the hose is OK, check the freeze plug on the engine, because if the engine is too old, maybe the plug was rust and leaking, when it’s leaking, the engine is hot, you will see the steam under the hood.

  1. When engine is hot, you have to be very carefully, do not open the water cap, if you want to open, you have to either wait a while or use a heavy towel to cover the radiator cap, then open it.

  1. Maybe the radiator is leaking.
I hope this can help you a little bit. good luck.

SOURCE: My 95 Honda Civic dx (revving up and down)

sounds like you might of blown a head or intake manifold gasket or cracked head. If it sounds like a rollercoaster going up the tracks or tractor sound. it's that. It's expensive repair. My advice if you dont know anyone cheap get another used car until you fix it or whatever your situation is. Also, it idles up and down because of the air escaping from the crack. If engine doesnt hold constant pressurethats whate happens. everything is to the T when working with vehicles. Plus redline dont matter, theres a cut off point, however because of the high rev you could of caused the over rev and blew a gasket or cracked the heads. Especially if you didnt have the proper fluids to keep the temperature down. Good Luck. Been there.

SOURCE: White smoke coming out of the exhaust when starting?

Hello;
Volumes of white smoke is an indication of water in the exhaust. A certain amount of vapor will be present on start up, but if it is different than what has been the norm for this vehicle then a check of the cooling system is in order.

SOURCE: white smoke coming from exaust while the car is hesitating

If you have white smoke coming from the cars exhaust this would indicate your engine is getting coolant in to the cylinder(s). This could be a bad head gasket, cracked or warped head. Sorry to say but your engine sounds as if it may need some big $$ work to be done to it. If you have the skills or a friend who does have a compression check done on all of the cylinders to help locate where the issue is at. Another way of check , with the engine cold, remove the radiator cap and start the engine if you see bubble in the radiator fluid this is air being pumped in to your cooling system by a cylinder or two. I wish I could bring you better news but the information you had shared you'll need to make a decision of whats your best course; repair or replace. If your confident you can do this repair over a weekend, otherwise this repair can get pricey.
Best of regards,
Tom

Engine cylinder #2 misfire and smoke coming from rear of motor and will not start.

Well, you may have an oil leak, but #2 missfire may mean a few things.
Pull #2 spark plug and see what's up.
be sure you are getting spark to #2.
Check for a vacuum leak,also.

When i start my 84 toyota truck 22r i notice white smoke coming out of the exhaust...

If your not overheating or losing coolant, its more than likely engine oil burning. If it is coolant related, possible blown head gasket.

1990 Corolla started shaking after I accelerated rapidly (gunned the engine)

White smoke coming out of exhaust is water vapor. Blue is oil burning and black is carbon from unburned fuel.
U have water or coolant leaking into your combustion cylinders - not a good thing. Probably blown head gasket.

Check your oil - if it like a brown mud then the coolant has also gotten into the lubrication system.

Coolant leak from radiator and white smoke coming from the hood.

Sounds like you have blown a head gasket. Do not run the engine like this or you will seize it up . anti freeze will freeze the pistons and you will need a new engine. Hope you have not ruined it now.
White smoke is a sign of water in the piston area.

I've just service my 2008 Hyundai Atos 4 days ago but now every morning just after starting it, white smoke come out. It never did this before. What could be the problem?

You need to get a better idea of what the smoke is. Is it petrol or diesel? Does the smoke linger or disappear quickly? If it is a small amount that disappears quickly it isn't likely to be a big issue.
If there is a lot of smoke get someone else to help as you reverse it out and try and see what colour the actual smoke is. The colour will give a better clue as to the problem. It could be slightly coloured as blue, black, grey or white. See the attached image for what they could mean.

White smoke comming from the left side of the egine

If your smoke is coming out of the tailpipe......White smoke usually means that water or antifreeze is being burned by your engine, blue smoke is oil and black smoke is fuel ( too much fuel) . If it is coming from under the hood you need to figure out where it is coming from.

Turned car off...sounded like it's trying to start w/o keys

This is called run on,or dieseling ,there maybe a timing problem,or the vehicle is running to hot,the temperature is to high,it may not be cooling good, check the temp of the engine,if it is too hot, then the cooling fan may not be working,or thermostat maybe staying closed. If the vehicles throttle is staying open to much, this could be the problem also.
