I have a flat tire and need to change the tire. The spare is up under the bed of the truck but I can not find any kind of release to get the spare out.
Hello, when you go to let it down can you turn the rod that you are useing to let the tire down? If not then the cable or gear box is rusted solid. That is what usually happens because of the location and lack of use. If it doesn't turn you will have to cut the cable or cradle that holds the tire up. If the rod does turn your spare tire carrier might have a safety catch. The catch can usually be released by putting a jack under the spare tire rim and raising it up. While your doing that turn the rod to crank up the tire. That should release the saftey catch and allow the tire to be lowered down.

I can not even find the place to put the rod in. There is no hole in the bumper or anything that I can find to crank the spare down. I don't even see any kind of cable to trace up to the truck. But I can tell you that I see a sping on the tire when I crawl under the truck
