Engine cylinder mis-fire

I have a 2000 jaguar s-type with V8 engine. As you may know, it is difficult to find out which one is cylinder one, two and so on. Engine on my car runs rough and have replaced spark plugs which made no change. I have hook it up to a diagnostic computer and gave me the codes for mis-fire of cylinder three, five and six. Now I want to replace the ignition coils of those particular cylinders but I can not tell which one is three, five and six.
Need your help.
Thanks

2000 Jaguar S-type, V8 dose not have any spark plug wires. They are individual coils for each cylinder and have purchased plugs from the dealer.

I need to know which one is cylinder #1, #2, #3 and so on. It is V8.

    Thanks

my 2000 w 4.0 ltre had same problem i bought 3 coils at £27.00 each and replaced one at a time till i drove with the covers off and could tell as sone as the faulty one had been replaced i was told mine where the rear ones but it turned out to be 2,3,5, after i payed£100.00 to have it diagnosed by a dealer would have been better buying coils in first place but not an easy job due to access.

I wouldnt stop short of replacing the spark plug wires as well because they are often the culprit right next to replacing spark plugs.

What kind of plugs did you purchase? I strongly recommend NGK for the future.

If a whole side has failed, as much as I hate to say it, the ECM/PCM has failed. More specifically the "drivers" for the injectors and should also fire spark. Let me know if you need anything else.

2000 Jaguar S Type. How do I check to see if the caqr is firing?

They make a little gauge that you put on a wire to see if have voltage in it. If not, you can pull a plug and ground it and crank it over and look for a spark. Pull off the coil wire and listen for a crack, Squirt some fuel into a cylinder and see if it will fire. A couple ways to check. Hope this helps.

Where is #2 cylinder on 2000 jaguar s type 4.0?And what is code p0302

I recently starting having this problem also (only code p0305/308). That code means "miss-fire" on #2 cylinder. The #2 cylinder is the nearest cylinder on the right (closest to front of car on drivers side) if you are standing in the front of the car.
