Model AE 104, with an engine rating of 1580 cc. I have owned it for 3 years now. It has clocked 320,000 km. Of late, some whining noise has benn coming from the rear, presumably the diff. I have checked the hub bearings but all seem well. The noise is still present even when it is gliding on free, on a slope. The diff is full of cc oil and I change the oil every now and then. What could be this annoying whining noise?

SOURCE: Rear diff whining noise

Give the old man a pat on the back! There is an oil plug on the rear differential. On a level surface, remove the plug; if oil starts to flow out, the fluid is full. If no oil flows, carefully put your finger in the hole and feel for the oil level. Your finger should go no lower than the first knuckle before you feel oil. If it goes further, you are low on oil and should either fill it up or better yet replace it. Rear axle oil doesn't get replaced nearly often enough in most vehicles and since your truck is 18 years old, would be a bad idea to have it changed. Best of luck.

Torque for mazdq astina 1800 es

You will need to give much more information. Vehicle make, model, year, engine, fuel type and what the nut or bolt is actually for. There are hundreds of nuts and bolts on any car and each one is a different torque setting. Without knowing which one your referring to you probably won't get your question answered.

Have a whining noise in my engine, replaced alternator 2 times, garage said it was tensioner, replaced, still have whining, loud on start up, changes pitch when gears change, another alternator?

Hello Kim,

What type of vehicle are we discussing here? Engine? 2 WD? Transmission?

Is the whining noise present at idle?

Is your vehicle air conditioned?

I need some details to provide assistance.

Whine in 6th gear at 60mph which increase in pitch as speed rises

Yes I would be worried that a dealer would blame a gearbox ratio whine on the engine
What you could do is check the model forums to see if anyone else has the same problem also visit a couple of independent mechanics to ask them what they think
What sort of warranty do you have with that dealer as he may be trying to run the clock down on the terms covering the gearbox
