Probably a bad McPerson Strut, or Spring--Check to see if the side that is high has a little rubber spacer in it also--Could have fallen out of the low side
I had the same problem with my 2005 xl Denali and I took it to the dealership and they set the limit switches the first time and that didn't work so off I went again back to the dealership and they replaced the air compressor for the load leveling system and that fixed the problem.
