2000 Jetta 2.0 gasoline engine. Multiple electrical problems. headlights will not turn on, only hi beam and only while holding lever up. A/C blower motor, wipers, and turn signals shut off as soon as headligh swich is turned on. These will not work again until ignition switch is turned off and back on several times, and only if headlight switch is off. A/C blower motor and wipers will continue to run even after ignition switch is turned off and key removed. A/C blower motor and wipers if left on any "ON" position will turn on by themselves after car has been turned off for hours, and will operate until battery is totally drained. So many problems affecting so many components I can't even think where to start troubleshooting, or which circuits to trace. Please help. Damian

I don't know what make of vehical you have but on most cars you pull the lever back to flash someone and push it forword to turn on to turn on the highbeams. Just a idea.

First, be sure that the headlights are actually coming on. These cars have daytime running lights that use the headlight bulbs at a lower voltage. If the car is only using the daytime running lights, the tail lights will not be on with the headlights. The multifunction lever always turns on the high beams when you pull on it (it's called 'flash to pass'). Make sure the headlight switch is working, and also check the headlight circuit breaker.

car headlights have 2 filaments each, 1 for high beam and other one for low, if both headlights are off there might be problem with the wires or relays and fuse. Have this serviced by an authorized auto-electrician since electrical wirings for gasoline engined cars are quite delicate and requires urgent attention.
