Engines cuts off when idling, have already changed fuel filter and fuel pump, acceleration is good, only problem is when idling, motor cuts off and I have to wait 10 min. before it will start again, sometimes cuts off in traffic, usually have to drive with one foot on the brake and one on the gas, now "cruise control not available" light comes on. Took it for a diagnosis to firestone and they said lower intake gasket has a leak. but I don't think thats the problem. Please help.

I would suggest a fuel pressure test. It sounds like you may have a clogged fuel filter or a fuel pump that is not maintaining adequate pressure under load. Obviously the fuel filter is the simplest and quickest place to start and might be best to change before doing the pressure test. Good luck.
Sounds like you may have fuel filter problem. you may want to check the pump and filters located in or near the fuel tank.
Go directly to the source ( Fuel Tank, Pump, Filters, Fuel Pressure Regulator and Injectors )
You may have water or grit in the fuel
Hope this helps
I had the same problem with a Corolla, and it was fixed by cleaning the fuel filter ( attached to the pump ), the fuel filter was clogged and could not supply enough fuel to the pump. Hope you fuel pump is good. Best of luck
If the engine wants to stall as you accelerate, and sometimes cuts out at highway speeds,...Its the fuel pump,If it misses at idle, and while driving, its the fuel filter,Have the fuel presure checked,or change the fuel filter, when you change the fuel pump, also ghange the fuel filter.
