Check fuel pressure at injector rail. Also verify transmission fluid level.

Check the Fuel injection system (injectors) and the intake manifold. It might also be wise to check the alternator as well as the starter coil and also the electronic distributor

I can think of two possible causes:
1 - Assuming you are getting spark at the plugs, the distributor may be reinstalled 180 deg off.
2 - Unlikely but - Assuming you are getting fuel into the cylinders, the fuel injector connectors were reinstalled improperly and are firing out of sequence. If you are not getting fuel into the cylinders, it's something else.

SOURCE: 1991 Mazda 626 DX dies suddenly after running for 10 minutes.

Hello, It sounds like an engine ignition control module gone out or a coil. They get hot and quit working after a short period of time, cool off then work again till they get hot.
Is the ignition system pointless electronic or does it have points? Are you getting any fire at all now to the cylinders? Does the tach in the vehicle show any RPM's during cranking? Do you have voltage at the positive side of the ignition coil? Does the coil meet the ohm ratings for that years vehicle ignition? Does the vehicle have oil in it so the oil pressure sensor allows the engine to run, this may not be an option on your particular vehicle? You can check most of this out with a volt/ohm meter. Check your voltages before starting the vehicle, during running and after it quits to see where the loss is. Just don't get near the center tap of the coil or you will get a rude awakening and/or serious injury. Good luck, RAC

1999 Mazda 626 V6 Car has an high idle and when running continues to **** off and drive itself if foot is not on the brake. HELP Please!!!!

Sounds like you have a bad fuel pressure regulator.First pull the vacuum hose off of the pressure regulator and look for fuel if any fuel runs out of it replace the regulator. Then if no fuel ran out, hook a fuel gauge to fuel rail and start engine and look at gauge reading and then pull the vacuum hose off and gauge reading should jump up 5-10 psi if it does'nt replace regulator.

I have a 1999 Mazda 626 5 speed and my rpms seem to always be high weather I'm driving n town, 4th gear 30 mph 2100 rpm, or on the highway 5th gear 70 mph and rpms at 3100. This I'm sure is killing my gas...

check clutch for slipping condition, mayb due to worn clutch disc or a oil contaminated disc or a weak pressure plate not locking disc to flywheel therefore giving u a slipping condition and higher than normal rpms

2001 mazda 626 rpm going up to 4 before going into 2nd gear

the transmission and filter need to be changed quickly, the oil is most likely burnt and/or the filter is covered with funk, once those are swapped then your ride should cruise just fine.

Why does my 1996 mazda 626 have high rpms when driving

Make sure you have the trany in "D" (drive) and not in a lower gear like 1,2 or 3. Some models must be in "econo" (not "power") setting for the trany to shift at a lower rpm. It will also get in overdrive sooner.
