1992 Volvo 740 Wagon w/o Turbo: Timing Belt Needs Replaced

I have a 1992 Volvo 740 Wagon with a 2.3 liter engine w/o turbo. The timing belt needs replaced. In order to take the timing belt cover off, I need to take off the crank shaft and it won't come off. Here is what I need to know:

Is the bolt that holds the pully to the crank shaft a right-hand thread or a left-hand thread?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

It is a right hand thread and you usually need an impact gun. Take the fan out of the way, to give you more room, I have found that helps.

Engine swap, car will not start

It sounds like you don't have the correct flex plate and it is throwing the timing off not letting it fire at the correct time.

Timing Belt

the bad news is that you have what is called an "interferance" engine, that means, when the timing belt breaks or slips the pistons go crashing into the valves, you are going to have to pull the head and check for damage before putting a new belt on it, as for the timing itself, there should be small marks on the pulleys and block to align the timing.
