My 1999 Chrysler Cirrus blower mode selector stopped working suddenly. It now blows only through the defrost ports, no matter which mode I select. I have replaced the actuator, tried pulling the M-1 fuse to reset, even found a replacement control module(panel) at a salvage yard. And still, every time, the actuator motor will go through the reset gyrations, spinning for about 15 sec., then nothing.....no further reaction to the position selector. At my wit's end... Thanks, -Todd"

I did not have defroster or venting to the feet. All I had was vent. I brought it to the shop they replaced the mode door actuator which flips the doors inside to make it flow to the defrost or vent etc; This cost me $210.00. They had to take the dash apart plus disengage the air bag under the steering wheel to get to the actuator.

Sounds like it in the switch or the electrical plug at the switch. The electrical plug could be burnt and need repairing or replacing. Need to remove the dash fascia, Careful not to damage clips. If the cover has no visible screws or bolts, then it clips into place. Unbolt heater controls and pull contol forward. Not a fun job but with patience you should be ok.
