A4 Sputtering/skipping when accelerating from stop
My 2004 A4 1.8 turbo (95k miles) just started sputtering/skipping during low acceleration. If i mash the accelerator it doesn't happen, nor do i have any issues at other speeds. Ideas?
try cleaning the throttle body/butterfly. then move onto vacuum pipes leaking & coil packs or even air mass meters, dont forget to check the coolant temp sender. but you will need a good diagnostic machine to record the live data, but very common on audi/vwtry cleaning the throttle body/butterfly. then move onto vacuum pipes leaking & coil packs or even air mass meters, dont forget to check the coolant temp sender. but you will need a good diagnostic machine to record the live data, but very common on audi/vw

The flashing light means the problem is serious enough to cause damage to the catalytic converter. Have the computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed. And get the plugs replaced.
have the fault codes read and use a quality injector cleaner in the fuel
it could be low fuel pressure , injector problems or accelerator position sensor related
sputtering/hesitating i would make a check on the coil and would also check for a vacuum leak. had the boss's wifes caddy doing the same thing, ended up being the intake boot had a split on the bottom side.
Sounds like one of the coil over plugs have gone bad. this will cause mis-fire which causes your car to sputter, skip, and shake. It can be changed easily when finding out which one it is. But rather expensive for a simple part $40+ each.
to funny, My car an 07 equinox with 52000 miles on it just today started sputtering. I googled equinox sputtering and I came up with this sight reporting the same exact problem-- help
Also, to complicate, it doesnt happen when using Tiptronic
