What are the locations of the Remote Control Door Lock Receivers RCDLR in a 2015 Malibu?

According to GM there are 3 components in the RCDLR or RKE remote keyless entry system. My key fobs with new batteries only work standing right next to the car. The range of the key fob dropped at that the same time my TPMS tire pressure monitoring system repair warning came on my dashboard. The problem is that there are 4 different components on the 2015 Malibu. I will provide the GM part numbers for these, if you please tell me where they are and also how to replace them: #13583559 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver #13502554 Antenna #13502551 Ignition Lock Key Transmitter Antenna #13502549 Low Frequency Console Antenna

How Do I Know If My Car Equipped With A Keyless Entry Remote System? I have a 1999 Ford Windstar. I bought several remotes but can't get my locks to engage. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Cathy

It does indeed have keyless entry. It needs reprogramming when you get a new remote. Also if you disconnect the battery. Usually a local car alarm fitting shop, or an auto-electrician will do it. Plus of course a Ford dealership.

2000 Mountaineer long delay on remote door unlock. To unlock the doors I have to hold the key fob unlock button as long as 10 seconds efore the door unlocks. No idea the cause.

Time for a new key fob ? Does it work good for locking the doors ?
Module Controlled Functions The multifunction modules consist of the following:
  • generic electronic module (GEM)/central timer module (CTM)
  • remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module (15K602)
The remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module controls the keyless entry, and computer operated locks systems.
The GEM/CTM controls the following features:
  • wiper/washer (front/rear)
  • warning chime
  • battery saver
  • illuminated entry and courtesy lamps
  • driver one touch down power window (GEM only)
  • accessory delay
  • 4 wheel drive (GEM only)
  • For keyless entry concerns, refer to Section 501-14B .
  • Keyless Entry The keyless entry system components consist of the following:
    • keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601)
    • remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module (15K602)
    • driver unlock relay (if equipped with two step unlocking)
    • all unlock relay
    • all lock relay
    • keyless entry keypad (14A626)
The electronic door lock system has three main components: the remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module, attached to the rear left hand quarter panel, the three-button (hand held) keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601), and the keyless entry keypad (14A626) on the driver side door.
The door locks are controlled by the RAP module through three external relays: the driver unlock relay (if equipped with two step unlocking), the all unlock relay, and the all lock relay. These relays are located in the relay box on the LH rear quarter panel.
The keyless entry remote transmitter initiates the following electronic door lock system functions:
    • Unlocks the driver door (if equipped with two step unlocking).
    • Unlocks all doors.
    • Locks all doors.
    • Enables the panic alarm.
    • Issues the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking) commands to the generic electronic module (GEM).
    • Sounds the horn (13832) once when LOCK on keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice, and doors are closed.
    • Sounds the horn twice when LOCK on the keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice, and any door or the liftgate window is ajar.
    • Allows up to four keyless entry remote transmitters to be programmed.
    • The order that the transmitters are programmed into the module will set the memory seat to the corresponding position when the driver door is unlocked with the transmitter.
NOTE: The remote entry features will not function when the ignition switch (11572) is in the RUN or ACC position.
The keyless entry remote transmitters are reprogrammable and must be set at the same time.
To confirm that the doors have been locked and that the anti-theft system has armed, press the LOCK button again, within five seconds of the first press. The horn will sound once if the doors have locked and all doors are closed.
  • Inspection and Verification
    1. Verify the customer concern by operating the electronic door lock control system.
    1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage; refer to the following chart:

      Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
      • Binding latches
      • Fuse(s) 20 (7.5A), 9 (20A), 18 (10A), 1 (60A), and 25 (7.5A)

      • Wiring harness
      • Loose or corroded connections
      • Keyless entry keypad
      • Remote transmitter
      • Door open warning lamp switch
    1. If the concern remains after the inspection, connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the scan tool menu. If scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
      • check that the program card is properly installed.
      • check the connections to the vehicle.
      • check the ignition switch position.
    1. If scan tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the scan tool manual.
    1. Perform the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the scan tool responds with:

Keyless Entry System Description and Operation (with Accessory 2 Way Remote)
Keyless Entry System Description and Operation (without Accessory 2 Way remote)

The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors/liftgate when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Vehicle locator/Panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Your best bet , take it to a GM dealer .

2008 HHR Remote Starter not working

Is this an issue with all 2008 HHR remotes??? Highly doubtful , probably the vehicles keyless entry system . Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop an having the keyless entry system checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Do you know what a DTC is ?
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors, or release the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed.
• Remote rear doors (Panel only)
• Vehicle locator/panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Guessing will not fix this .

2001 Mercury Villager keyless remote is malfunctioning

Keyless Entry
The keyless entry system consists of the following:
  • smart entry control(SEC)/timer module
  • keyless entry remote transmitters
  • power door lock actuators
  • body side door power door lock actuator
  • liftgate actuator
  • power door lock switches
  • door ajar switches
  • Principles of Operation
All doors can be locked at once by turning the door key lock switch to the locked position. An individual door can be unlocked by moving the door key lock switch to the unlocked position and turning it again within five seconds; all the doors (including the liftgate) will unlock.
The smart lock system is designed to keep the driver from locking his keys in the car. It will lock and then unlock all the doors if the smart entry control(SEC)/timer module detects the following conditions:
    • The ignition key still in the ignition.
    • A front door is open.
    • A door lock switch has been pushed to the lock position.
The panic feature has a duration of 30 seconds from the last time the PANIC button is pressed. When locking the doors from the remote transmitter, the horn chirp/lamp flash feature can be disabled or enabled by holding the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for two seconds. The hazards will flash three times to confirm that the feature has be enabled or disabled.
The control module probably see's an input that shouldn't be there . lock Switch , door ajar etc... Don't think it has anything to do with the remote . Some part stores have a tester to see if signal from the remote is working . Or the dealer ! Take it an see if your remote is sending a signal without you pressing any buttons .
If it is you need a new one .

Car won't start.Theft light blinks, clicking sound under hood and thumping like horn wants to go off.Seems like it's stuck in anti theft mode

anti theft light should blink every few seconds.

try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes.

Anti-Theft-Perimeter The perimeter anti-theft system consists of the following components:
  • anti-theft indicator (THEFT)
  • remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module
  • hood switch
  • keyless entry remote transmitter
  • deck lid ajar switch
NOTE: The remote entry features will not function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position.
Up to four keyless entry remote transmitters (15K601) can be programmed at one time.
The keyless entry remote transmitters :
  • Are programmable.
  • Must be set at the same time.
  • House four buttons.
  • House three buttons (Mexico Anti-Theft System only).
Programming
Refer to Section 501-14B.
Inputs and Outputs
The remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module receives input from the following components for anti-theft operation:
  • Hood switch.
  • Deck lid ajar switch.
  • Keyless entry remote transmitter.
  • Power door lock switches (LH and RH).
  • Door courtesy input.
The RAP module distributes output to the following for the anti-theft system:
  • Power door unlock relay.
  • Power door lock relay.
  • Liftgate unlock relay (Wagon)
  • Park lamps relay.
  • HORN relay.
  • Dome lamp.
  • THEFT indicator.
  • Deck lid release.
Arming
The anti-theft system can be armed if:
  • The ignition switch is in the OFF position.
  • The panic alarm is off.
  • All doors are closed.
NOTE: If a door is open, the anti-theft system is prearmed and waiting for all the doors to be closed. The THEFT indicator will remain illuminated for up to 30 minutes waiting for all the doors to be closed. If a door remains open after 30 minutes, the THEFT indicator will turn off and the system will return to a disarmed state. After all doors are closed and the 30 second prearm (continuous THEFT indicator illumination) is complete, the system is armed.
NOTE: If the theft LED does not flash after 30 seconds, check the LED FLASH PID to see if the feature is enabled.
The anti-theft system will be armed when the lock button on the keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed, all doors are closed and 30 seconds have elapsed.
When the system is armed, the THEFT indicator will flash quickly until the system is triggered or disarmed.
Disarming
NOTE: Using a key in a door lock cylinder to unlock is not a valid method of disarming the anti-theft system.
Untriggered System
NOTE: If the driver arms the system and remains in the vehicle, an untriggered system can be disarmed by turning the ignition switch to the ON position.
An untriggered alarm system can be disarmed by pressing the unlock button on the keyless entry remote transmitter.
Triggered System
NOTE: If the hood or trunk are open when the system is armed, it must be closed and opened again before it can trigger an alarm.
An armed anti-theft system can be triggered by the following conditions:
The deck lid door, liftgate, hood or any door is opened using a key, inside door handle, hood release, etc.
  • The keyless entry remote transmitter can activate a panic alarm which is similar to the anti-theft alarm, but does not cause the THEFT indicator to flash.
A triggered alarm system can be disarmed by:
  • Pressing the unlock or panic button on the keyless entry remote transmitter.
  • Turning the ignition switch to the ON position.
Alarm State When Battery Power Is Cycled
When the RAP module is supplied power the first time at the vehicle assembly plant, the system will be in the disarmed state. The RAP module will remember whether it is armed, disarmed or triggered in its non-volatile memory. When the battery positive cable is removed and then reconnected, the system will return to the state it was in just before the battery was disconnected. If the system is in any prearm state, then the system will return to a disarmed state when the battery is disconnected and then reconnected.
