First things first...replace the cheaper part first, the battery. It that works, great! If not, then you may need a new key fob then have it programed to your system.

SOURCE: driver's door lock will not open by key or electronic fob

I was able to determine if you move the inside door handle toward the front of the car, then you could remove the door panel. However, it takes a little force to pot out the plastic clips, but if you work around the outside by appling pressure with a thin tool, such as a putty knife it will pot out.

My problem was a small yellow plastic part that connects the outside and inside door handle rods was broken.

So I plan to replace the part and see if that fixes the provlem. If so I can save over $340 dealer repair costs.

I recently replaced the battery on my 2004 Toyota Camry. When I installed new battery the door locks will not stay unlocked once opened with remote. How do I reprogram?

SOURCE: Left side door locks not working at all. Only manually or with key.

When I first read this I thought Solenoid/Lock motor.
But as it's two doors on the one side I would look for a problem with wiring /connections at vulnerable points. Where the wiring goes from the front door to the body is a good place to start.

go to any Toyota dealer. They will sell you a new key fob but they also charge extra for programming. Total cost for the key fob and programming will be around $100. any Toyota dealer can do it for you

Open trunk

Are we talking about a key fob for a car alarm? If so, did you check the battery on it?...It might be dead. Try replacing it, if it works great! If not, then the key fob must be replaced.

Wireless Key Remote door & trunk opener won't work with trunk anymore

When you press the trunk open button, do you hear any "release" noise come from the trunk area? The issue may be a bad battery in the key fob OR there could be an issue with the transmitter located inside the vehicle. Do the doors lock and unlock properly? is the vehicle equipped with security or immobilizer? please advise

Trunk won't open

Lower the back seat and crawl into the trunk and see what the latch is doing when you activate the key fob. the trunk lid will have to be open to enable any repairs. Also an emergency release cable is probably visible (yellow handle) inside the trunk and will Open the trunk lid.

Trunk won't open

First, if it does need an actuator, you can save some money on labor getting it done at an idependent aftermarket shop rather than the dealer. Yes, the part will most likely have to come from the dealer, but let the shop deal with that. You do not have to pay dealership labor rates. It would pay to shop around.

Second, before any parts are purchaced, the actual CAUSE of the problem needs to be verified. Unfortunately, the ONLY way to do that is to get the trunk lid open and inspect the trunk lid latch components. If none of the three methods provided by the manufacturer for opening the trunk in a normal fashion will work, the trunk will have to be accessed by removing the back seat. Once the back seat is removed, a technician can reach into the trunk and remove the bolts that secure the trunk latch to get the trunk open. The latch parts can then be accessed to disassemble, inspect, and repair accordingly.

Please note that this is the ONLY way to do this without causing further damage to the vehicle. DO NOT allow anyone to attempt getting into the trunk any other way! (Do not use pry bars or screwdrivers on the trunk lid, key tumblers, etc..)

Inside trunk release won't open trunk on 2002 Camry. Lock will not turn with master key. Remote trunk opener will open trunk.

1. Open trunk
2. Place latch in lock position
3. Pull inside trunk release to see what isn't moving
4. If trunk key won't turn, the key may be worn out and need to be replaced
